📣 Byte-Sized Breakthroughs
'Byte-Sized Breakthroughs' briefly highlights (technological) developments in the digital landscape
Headstory: Unleashing the power of personalized AI for marketers with the GPT Store
We are undoubtedly living in an era of builders. With the expansion of generative AI, anyone can build almost anything, as long as your write the right prompt. The launch of the capability to build your own GPTs in November democratized access to personalized AI. Even non-technical users could create AI assistants tailored specifically to their use cases. Now, with the introduction of the GPT Store, featuring thousands of specialized chatbots, the impact is likened to that of the App Store's launch in 2008. The GPT Store serves as a virtual marketplace where creators can design, share, and monetize custom GPT iterations.
This opens up new possibilities. One of the most compelling aspects of the GPT Store is its ability to cater to a wide range of marketing needs. Whether it's crafting engaging content, generating innovative campaign ideas, or conducting SEO keyword research, the store offers an array of GPTs tailored to these tasks. Marketers can simply select a GPT that aligns with their objectives and employ it instantly, bypassing the learning curve typically associated with new technologies. That's why I'd like to offer the following three tips to get the most out of the GPT Store:
Develop your own GPT for specific use cases: For instance, if you're a developer needing to write user stories, why not build a GPT to assist you? Creating a tool specifically for your needs can significantly enhance your efficiency.
Leverage other's expertise through the GPT Store: Utilize the expertise of others to achieve better results. For example, I'm not the best at SEO, but I still need to write SEO descriptions or titles now and then. So, I look for a GPT crafted by an SEO expert.
Create a GPT for your business or team: Imagine you’re sending hundreds of emails to clients. Collect the copy from your most successful campaigns and build a GPT based on that. This way, your future emails are informed by the most effective content. With the GPT Store, you can easily share these internally by distributing the GPT link to your colleagues.
What will you build today? With the introduction of the GPT Store, there’s no longer an excuse not to incorporate AI into your daily tasks. Don’t hold yourself back; your creativity and efficiency are bound to soar. I promise.
Samsung Galaxy AI is here, the first mobile OS actually using AI
TL;DR
You might have seen the ad videos last week on your screen. Announced today officially: Galaxy AI. Powered by Gemini Nano, Samsung has added several handy AI features to their OS, including real-time voice translations during phone calls or in messages. Also, summarizing long texts or website articles, and photo editing like relocating items or people. And the ‘circle to search’ feature, stumble upon a photo of an item you just have to know what it is? Circle it and voilà, you'll get Google Search results. Now you can quickly get an answer without leaving your feed.
Sentiment
Because it was announced yesterday, It's still very fresh. But the initial reactions are enthusiastic. Samsung is the first major smartphone player to integrate AI into their OS and come up with features that add direct value, like the voice translation. The Circle to Search function is already receiving cheers. Samsung is putting pressure on Apple with these developments for sure.
My thoughts
Samsung has succeeded in coming up with effective features that users actually find useful. The voice translation is ideal for me on vacation. The circle to search has been a long-cherished wish of many, I suspect. Previously, I always had to switch apps when I wanted to search for something I saw at that moment; now, it's no longer necessary. Samsung also uses AI to upscale images to unprecedented sharpness. Smart. It gives an idea of what the future of our smartphones looks like.
Your pocket companion called: Rabbit
TL;DR
There's a new kid in town. Rabbit is an AI-powered device featuring voice control, a camera, a display, and an analog scroll button to assist you with daily tasks. Whether you want to play your favorite song on Spotify, order a pizza online, or send an email to a colleague, you can do it all simply by talking to it, without needing your phone or switching between different apps. It sounds simple, but it represents a significant shift.
Sentiment
The announcement of this new AI wearable was met with cheers. An OS that can control everything, independent of apps, finally breaking the silos of app dependency. Within four days, 40,000 Rabbits were sold. However, following the initial excitement, some questioned: couldn't it just have been an app? Most skeptics now seem to be won over.
My thoughts
Breaking the app silos is groundbreaking. It's a fundamental shift in how we use our devices. This device comes closest to being a superapp that can do everything. Compared to its only current rival, the Humane AI Pin, Rabbit is also affordable. Currently positioned as an addition to your phone rather than a replacement, I believe this is the beginning of the end of smartphone dominance. Although I ultimately believe these features will also be incorporated into smartphones, for me, it's currently just an enhanced version of Siri. So the question is, when will Siri be able to do this too?
More byte-sized breakthroughs:
Apple Vision presale starts
The long-awaited presale of the Apple Vision Pro starts tomorrow. Subsequently, it will be available for purchase in stores from February 2nd. For now, a disadvantage: it's only in the US. It is expected to be available in other countries later this year. Nevertheless, the launch of the Apple Vision Pro is significant, as it will mark a turning point in how people interact with devices around them. A new era has truly begun.Microsoft Co-Pilot subscriptions
Microsoft is launching a paid version of Co-Pilot. Functional across your devices and deployable in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft products. A way to give your productivity and creativity an unprecedented boost. With the paid version, you get access to the latest and greatest OpenAI models, generate AI images, and build your own CoPilot GPT. At the same time, they are also launching a version for businesses.SEC approves trading in Bitcoin "stocks"
It can certainly be called a milestone. For years, major American investment funds and the SEC regulator have labeled Bitcoin as unreliable. Now, they have all come around. Bitcoin ETFs are being offered on American stock exchanges. Every investor can now buy a share in a Bitcoin ETF, without having to own the cryptocurrency themselves. This is an important development for the adoption of cryptocurrencies in general. The expected price increase has yet to materialize.
🤖 Digital Toolbox
In the 'Digital Toolbox,' I mention three (new) tools that you can use for your work now or later.
Relume - Imagine a website. Now generate it.
With Relume, you create wireframes in minutes and sitemaps in seconds. Describe the content of the page and the tool does the rest. Export to Webflow or Figma and get your graphic designer and development team to work in no time.
Coda - Streamline workflows and collaborate more efficiently
Coda makes it easy for teams to collaborate, without having to switch between documents, spreadsheets, and other work tools. It enables teams to organize and manage projects, tasks, and workflows in one central place.
Munity - Transform B2B websites into primary revenue channels
Munity revolutionizes how B2B buyers are approached online, utilizing AI to craft audience segments and customize personalization strategies. Effortlessly edit and optimize your website for distinct visitor demographics, all without the need for programming expertise.
🧐 Last but not least
Challenge your friends head-to-head with Sorere Rivals: The way people experience sports is changing. Betting is one of them. But developments such as the platform of global sport NFT company Sorare is another. With the addition of challenging friends in a head-to-head game, they offer a quick and social environment for playing fantasy sports combined with real sports moments with friends or the community. An example of how a company can provide engagement and loyalty to bind fans.
Meta introduces Audio2Photoreal: This demonstrates why Facebook changed its name to Meta. They are launching a model that makes photorealistic avatars move naturally, driven by the person's own voice.
Your new robot chef: In the previous dip, we saw Tesla's robot with human-like capabilities. Researchers from Stanford University have build a robot that can do the household tasks. Where can I buy one?
The world's fastest conversational AI: In the previous dip, we already shared a glimpse into the future of customer services. Here is a new example. The reaction time, tone of voice, and scalability are unprecedented. 500,000 conversations, simultaneously, 24/7. It's possible. Applicable for customer services, sales, surveying.
Animate Anyone: Is this a threat to influencers? Upload an image of a person and animate it. Almost any movement is possible. Check out these 9 examples. Or convert an image into a 3D avatar and then animate it. The best application so far is this, for when you want to know if that outfit actually suits you before you buy it.
My favorite CES 2024 breaktroughs from last week: A transparent 4K TV. Transparent LED screen. A foldable laptop. A compact VR projector. An AI-jack-of-all-trades.
Remember Samsung's Ballie? The round robot first revealed in 2020 has made a comeback at #CES2024. tcrn.ch/4aLO65s

ChatGPT on your laptop: It won't be long before an AI model also runs locally on your laptop. If you can't wait until then, check out how to install it here.
First steps towards ChatGPT-5: The first step towards ChatGPT-5 has been taken. OpenAI has published a support article describing new features. For example, ChatGPT can learn from information from all the conversations you have. This provides better, more relevant, and more personalized responses.
Google Photos meets AI: Google Photos has undergone a massive upgrade. You can now remove or modify parts of the image. Change expressions on faces. Or automatically generate compilation videos.
1. Magic Eraser:
- The photo editor now uses Gen AI to fill in detail when users remove unwanted objects from photos.
Steps to use:
- Open the Google Photos app.

Text-Driven Generative Object Insertion in Neural 3D Scenes: Google publishes research in which they generate objects in a real 3D environment based on a text prompt and then place them in that real environment. InseRF generates an object in a 3D scene via a text prompt and one 2D bounding box.
Place 3D models anywhere: With this tool, you can place 3D models in any world you want. Upload your 3D model, provide your prompt, and voila. You have now placed your 3D model in a realistic environment that looks slick.
Determine the price of a product using AI before selling: What people are developing with ChatGPT-Vision is amazing to see. For example, an app to estimate the price of certain products if you are going to sell them.
Generate videos in Discord: The Midjourney for videos is here. Type your prompt in Discord and generate a few seconds of video. At the same time, Midjourney's competitor, Leonardo AI, has launched the ability to convert images into video.
